Special Report: Notice of Possible Change for ERCOT Costs

ERCOT has adjusted the cost of Minimum Monthly Ancillary Services Requirements. This regards ERCOT ensuring grid reliability and a direct result of the February 2021 polar vortex problems resulting in system-wide uncertainties and consequences. Without digging into technical issues, the purpose is to improve responsiveness of the generation that is relied on for unforeseen occurrences.

There is an additional cost that is being addressed by providers. It may be regarded as a cost that will be passed through to loads. Some REPs have informed us that they will not be passing this through. It is early in the change, and uncertainty (or at least lack of understanding) requires focusing on your
invoices. We encourage your questions and will provide information as received.

NOTE: This will not affect residential loads or small commercial loads <50kW.
